Latest news from HumbleBee Home Andalucía, July 2013

Dear friends!

Summer is slowly arriving in Andalucía. May and June have not been as warm as normal, just a couple of what we in Norwegian call tropical nights, nights when the temperature doesn’t go below 20°C. The day temperatures have been around a pleasant 25°C. The long term weather forecasts are now reporting that the temperatures are on their way up and if there is anything guaranteed in this area, it is that the heat will arrive!! However, we are not complaining that the warmest temperatures takes their time in coming, it is certainly more comfortable working outdoors with 25°C than 35°C. Today they have been cutting the wheat on the fields around us – the harvest season has started. The newly cleaned pool has received a little sprinkle of straw and dust so another round with the vacuum cleaner will be necessary.
The nature has taken on its summer color around us.
This means that a variety of yellows and browns have replaced the greens. The sheep and the goats are out grazing and the riverbed is almost dry – just a little water still running, proof that the winter and spring have been wet ? We had a visit from Alberto and his sheep in the beginning of June so that helped clean up some of the weeds around the bar and the bbq. But we had to do our part as well, with gloves, hoes and scythe to make it a bit nicer around us. Still some left, but bit by bit, we’ll get it done.
As every year, the fig tree is full of fruit. They are ripe by the end of July and most of August. They are freely available for all our guests to enjoy during that period. The vines are also full of grapes this year. They will be ripe during August and September. It is quite exotic for our guests to eat the grapes straight from the vines – they are blue and sweet!

On our morning walk with Ranya and Chiquita a couple of days ago we found a horse shoe in the middle of the road. It has been brought home and we hope that this will cause our luck to change – we could need that. Ranya and Chiquita are very happy, an hours walk every morning – they love it!

The summer offer we sent out in the beginning of June is still valid of course. Come for a visit, have some fresh figs or grapes straight from the vines ? Here is the link to the offer:

We have during the last months had 5 viewings of the property, but so far none of them have resulted in anything. One of the estate agents we were represented with has closed down, but we have established contact with a couple of new ones as well. The new ones are www.coastandinlandproperties.com, reference number R1980537, and www.thisisspain.info, where we are listed under “Casa Rural”.

The first one of these also has Facebook pages: https://www.facebook.com/coastandinlandproperties and there you will find this nice Little video clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQbwu9Y3i8&feature=youtu.be

Feel free to forward this newsletter and tip people that we are here, both for visits and potential buyers! We have also put these links on our Facebook page, feel free to share them on your own page.
So, what’s happening in the months to come:
