In this issue, you will find information about the BEST seminar and the workshops to be held in 2014. Four workshops are to be held, and the topics this year are as follows: 

1. Customer requirements on bus standards, Oslo, September 8
2. Customer satisfaction & travel behaviour surveys, Stockholm, October 8
3. Customer service & traffic information, Copenhagen, October 30
4. Ticket and payment solutions & fare evasion, Helsinki, November 13
 
 
BEST Seminar to be held 18th and 19th of September

The BEST seminar 2014 will take place in Bergen, Norway on the 18th and 19th of September. Please make a note in your calendar about the event! The seminar program includes city presentations, together with presentations of main results from of the BEST survey, and the latest news about the key figure database. Just to mention some items from the program.

BEST workshop # 1 - Customer requirements on bus standard

In the workshop the participants will discuss how the customer experience of the bus trip can be improved. It will be a combination of presentations of relevant market research identifying customer needs and preferences, and open discussions related to different bus designs and how they affect identified customer segments.

The target group for the workshop is public transport professionals working with identifying customer needs & preferences, and how to translate customer needs into specific requirements, and persons working with bus procurement and bus fleet strategies.

BEST workshop # 2 - Customer satisfaction & travel behaviour surveys

The workshop will focus on Customer satisfaction & travel behaviour surveys:

- What are the main challengers related to today’s situation
- How do we work to improve the overall customer satisfaction
- Some examples of travel surveys
The main purpose of this workshop is to share experience concerning customer satisfaction & travel behaviour surveys. The city presentation can concern a concrete case/project or it could be a presentation of your organizations strategy concerning Customer satisfaction & travel behaviour surveys. The workshop is especially relevant for people working with customer satisfaction & travel behaviour surveys.

BEST workshop # 3 - Customer Service and Traffic Information

Digitization and technological development gives more and better opportunities for public transport organizations to improve the customers’ service and traffic information. Is it possible to develop a seamless digital solution, that gives the customers a travel planner, traffic information, ticket, travel evaluation, ...?

The workshop will focus on Customer Service and Traffic Information:
-  What are the main challengers related to customer service and traffic information?
-  How do we work to improve traffic information?
-  What level of service can we provide?
-  How are your organizations working with Customer Service and Traffic Information in a digital perspective?

The main purpose of this workshop is to share experience concerning Customer Service and Traffic Information in a digital perspective. The city presentation can concern a concrete case/project or it could be a presentation of your organizations strategy concerning Customer Service and Traffic Information.

BEST workshop # 4 - Ticket and payment solutions & fare evasion

The workshop will be held in Helsinki on the 13th of November 2014. A preliminary program will be available by the end of August, but it is already possible to register. Save the date in your calendar, especially if you are working with ticket and payment solutions, and/or revenue protection.
